Update on Firefly Generative Credit Add-on plan SKUs (VIP/VIP MP

The Generative Credit Add-on plan SKUs are published on the VIP and VIP Marketplace price lists in anticipation of enforcement of generative credits later in 2024. Although these SKUs are on the price lists, there is no need for customers to purchase these plans for Teams or Enterprise customers until enforcement of generative credits begins for their plans. Attempts to place orders using these SKUs will result in an error. Additional communication will be provided when enforcement of generative credits for Teams and Enterprise plans is scheduled to begin.

Change to distributor requirements for authorizing VIP Marketplace government and education resellers

In response to partner feedback received since the launch of government and education support in VIP Marketplace, Adobe will not require distributors to authorize resellers for the government and education market segments. This includes all training, compliance review, and risk management activities for authorization to resell government and education offerings previously communicated as distributor responsibilities. Adobe will continue to authorize VIP Marketplace resellers for government and education through the Adobe Partner Connection (APC) program.

Distributors will be responsible for:

1. confirming the current authorization status with Adobe of any distributor- authorized reseller who wishes to sell to government and/or education customers, and
2. applying the appropriate market segment designation/s to the reseller’s account in the distributor’s marketplace to enable government and/or education transactions.

AI Assistant for Acrobat GA Update (Date & Pricing Change)

Last week, we shared an update regarding the upcoming launch of the AI Assistant for Acrobat. The AI Assistant for Acrobat is an add-on for Acrobat (Reader, Standard, Pro), which helps knowledge workers interact with their documents, for quick answers and one-click summaries, to create impactful content, and level up their productivity.

This week, we would like to reiterate the update and confirm that we are on track for the new GA date of June 18, 2024:

General Availability (GA) Date:

The GA for AI Assistant for Acrobat for Teams and Enterprise VIP is now moving to June 18, 2024. Please note that new features, such as the ability to run AI Assistant on multiple documents at the same time, will now be available by this new GA date.

Pricing:

• AI Assistant for Acrobat will now have a base price of $4.99/user/month. This is no longer a 1-year introductory offer, but the standard base offer instead.
• For VIP and VIP MP, the June price list has been republished on May 28, 2024 to reflect this change. Please ask partners to download this new price list and update your price list accordingly. 

First Order Date:

• ·While the SKUs for the AI Assistant for Acrobat is available for sale starting June 5, we encourage our channel partners to initiate orders for these SKUs on June 18, to take advantage of the additional product value that will be available at GA.
• Please note, that if a Teams customer purchases the AI Assistant add-on on June 5 (prior to GA), the product will be fully functional, however the product UI will display a beta tag, until the product is generally available.

Reminder: Change to VIP Marketplace 3-year Commit Acceptance Options

In response to partner feedback received since the launch of VIP Marketplace 3-year Commit with required auto-renewal, Adobe is making a change to the ways by which a VIP Marketplace member can enter into a VIP Marketplace 3-year Commit agreement with Adobe. Effective immediately, the reseller must initiate all VIP Marketplace 3-year commit invitations.  

Previously, there were two ways for VIP Marketplace members to initiate a VIP Marketplace 3-year commit. 

1. A qualified VIP Marketplace member could independently accept VIP Marketplace 3-year commit for their full license quantity from the Admin Console. (Discontinued)

2. The reseller may initiate a VIP Marketplace 3-year commit invitation for a chosen license quantity.   

The option for members to independently accept VIP Marketplace 3-year commit from the Admin Console (option 1) has been discontinued. Going forward, all VIP Marketplace 3-year commit agreements must be initiated by the reseller (option 2). This will ensure partner involvement in Members’ accepting VIP Marketplace 3-year commit agreements. 

VIP Marketplace 3-year commit requires auto-renewal of the Minimum Commit for the duration of the customer’s VIP Marketplace 3-year commit term (up to 2 renewals). Auto-renewal cannot be disabled or opted out for VIP Marketplace 3-year commit customers. For additional information on VIP Marketplace 3-year Commit, see the VIP Marketplace sales & administration guide. 

Note: As communicated in April, VIP Marketplace direct partners must ensure that their marketplace platforms are built to support reseller-initiated 3-year commit invitations via API. If you need assistance, contact your Adobe channel account manager or technical representative for assistance.  

Reminder: Planned system updates in June 2024

As part of planned Adobe system updates, there will be three windows in June 2024 with limited impact for VIP and VIP Marketplace. During these windows, order processing and invoicing will be delayed. Due to the scheduled start and end times, we anticipate limited impact for Japan and APAC only.
