How VIP Marketplace works

Learn how to invite customers to the VIP Marketplace program, what the three license term options are, and how volume discounts work.

VIP Marketplace offerings provide a variety of licensing and purchasing options for commercial, government, and education customers.

Named user licenses

Named user licenses are designed for use by an individual within the member’s organization. Adobe requires that any named user must be an active employee at the eligible organization.

Consumables

Consumables are products that are purchased, used, and then more may be purchased. Consumables may not be returned, even within the return window, if any consumable has been used. In VIP Marketplace, there are two types of consumables: Sign Transactions and Stock Credit Packs. For more on consumables, see Purchasing consumable products and Auto-renewal and consumables.

Education-specific offerings

Adobe offers two types of licensing options that allow students and teachers to access their Adobe software at work, at home, or in a computer lab: named user licenses and shared device licenses.

Named user licenses

Educational institutions (e.g., schools, districts, legal entities) may purchase named-user licenses for individual faculty, staff, or students. Named user licenses enable users to work at home and on campus and are ideal for bring-your-own-device (BYOD) environments.

Shared device licenses

Educational institutions may purchase shared device licenses to give students, teachers, and faculty the flexibility to access Adobe products in shared environments like labs, libraries, and classrooms.

To use shared device licenses, students and faculty in shared environments can simply log in with an ID (Federated or Enterprise) and password provisioned by the school. Higher education users have the option to log in using a free Adobe ID that they create on Adobe.com.

Nonprofit organizations may be eligible for discounted licenses on many Adobe products. Visit Adobe nonprofit pricing discounts & programs for additional information.

Government-specific offerings

VIP Marketplace provides licensing and purchasing options specific to the needs of government agencies.

Large Government Agencies Program (LGA)

LGA is designed for high-volume enterprise transactions by large government agencies in the United States and Canada only. LGA supports the unique purchasing requirements of government agencies, including the need to purchase from published price lists, with 1-year terms, and to be in compliance as they pay for licenses that are added. LGA requires a minimum purchase of 100 licenses and acceptance of the LGA terms & conditions (English | French Canadian). For additional information, see the LGA overview for channel partners

Term License option

VIP Marketplace offers a 3-year Term License that does not include services or product updates. Term Licenses are sold as a 3-year non-renewing term license (using 36-month VIP Marketplace extended term, paid upfront) and, once activated, can be used offline for the length of the term. Members pay up front for a 3-year license term. Any licenses added during the 3-year term will co-terminate with the Anniversary Date. Term Licenses are named-user licenses. Some products that are sold as Term Licenses are Acrobat Pro 2024 and the Elements 2025 product family.

High Growth Offers

High Growth Offers (HGOs) are available on a limited basis in VIP Marketplace to accelerate seat expansion and to support migration from VIP to VIP Marketplace. HGOs introduce a new offer type that requires a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) and applies a maximum current seat count for eligibility. HGO offers are limited to Acrobat Pro at this time.

For more information on how to use these offers for Acrobat Pro, refer to the Acrobat Pro High Growth Offers Sales Enablement Deck.
