Key features

  • A thousand brushes with greatness—Work with watercolors and oils that blossom and blend at your touch. Use vector and raster brushes together on the same canvas. Access thousands of your favorites from Photoshop and celebrated master Kyle T. Webster. Adobe Fresco puts the world’s largest and most advanced selection of brushes right at your fingertips.
  • The world is your studio—Adobe Fresco works with Photoshop, so you can transfer files back and forth seamlessly and easily export projects in different sizes and formats, including PDF, PSD, and PNG. And because it’s part of Creative Cloud, all your files, brushes, colors, and content libraries are always just a brushstroke away.

  • Artwork is now a lot less work—We’ve reimagined essential tools for illustrators that are faster and better for Apple Pencil and touch devices. Draw using a modernized selection and masking process that lets you isolate parts of a layer and turn selections into masks. Customize your UI to make it easier for left- or right-handed drawing. And switch to full-screen mode to clear your canvas of distractions.
  • Freeflowing imagination—Harness the power of Adobe Sensei with live brushes that look, feel, and act just like the real thing. Paint with watercolors that bloom and bleed in real time. Swirl and smudge creamy oils on your canvas and build up paint thickness for a 3D effect.

What is Adobe Fresco?

Adobe Fresco is a drawing and painting app built for the latest stylus and touch devices. Its range of Sensei-powered watercolor and oil brushes—we call them live brushes—is something that anyone who is passionate about drawing will love and find valuable.

Adobe Fresco is currently available only on iPad. Download the app from the Apple App Store and try it.

Is Adobe Fresco free?

Adobe Fresco is available as a freemium version, which contains many of the same features as the full version, but with limited access to the following professional tools:

  • Brushes: Free users have access to a subset of brushes in each category, but not the entire collection.
  • Export: Free users can only export finished artwork at iPad screen resolution; they cannot export high-resolution files.
  • New features: Any new features added will be available to users with a CC plan only.

What's the difference between Photoshop on iPad and Adobe Fresco?

Photoshop on iPad is best used for creative image editing and pixel-level retouching on the go.

Adobe Fresco is a brand-new drawing and painting app. You can start with a blank canvas and use powerful pixel, vector, and live watercolor and oil brushes to bring your imagination to life. Adobe Fresco has the power of the Photoshop painting engine.

Can I work with my Fresco artwork in other applications?

Yes. Adobe Fresco documents can be opened and edited in Photoshop. You can work back and forth seamlessly across the two applications. Adobe Fresco documents can be exported to PDF, and you can further edit the layered document by importing into Adobe Illustrator.
